ABOUT THE AUTHOR
When I was younger, I loved listening to fairy tales, fables and other magical stories. As I grew older, I equally enjoyed learning about the ancient lore and wisdom from indigenous cultures. It always intrigued me how people could live in the most artic and arid environments. I especially appreciated how those cultures lived with the Earth. As a child, when I would see a single leaf waving on a tree or a flower blooming out of season, it made me wonder if the Earth was trying to get my attention. Speaking Earth came to me in the most ordinary way. While making a strawberry shortcake I ran out of strawberries. It was at that moment I realized a strawberry was irreplaceable. At that point my world opened up to me, and I began to consider the vastness and uniqueness of the Earth’s creations. The following day a butterfly flew into my face. I took that as a sign Earth was making a point to get my attention. From there, my earth relationship deepened and I learned to “speak earth.”
